PRS: What influenced you to start playing the guitar and/or music in general? Evan: I started as a drummer and naturally moved to guitar after wanting to be out in front. When I was starting out on guitar, Alice in Chains were probably my biggest influence in every way. Jerry Cantrell is an awesome guitar player and they directly influenced me through their writing. I learned how to play all of their songs on a piece of crap guitar that only had 4 strings on it. When I bought my first guitar I didn't know what the extra strings were for. PRS: Who are some of your favorite guitar players? Evan: Lindsay Buckingham, Carlos Santana, Tim Mahoney and Travis Meeks. PRS: Which model PRS Guitar do you play/own? Evan: I play the Singlecuts, the Hollowbodies, and the Tremonti SEs. PRS: What do you like about those guitars? Evan: Everything. They are all different from one another, but among them they all consistently play very well, sound great and look amazing. On top of that its a great company that is very artist based. PRS: What bands/albums are you into right now? Evan: I've been into alot of different stuff lately: Coldplay, Days of the New, The Used, Butch Walker, From Zero, among others... PRS: Seen any good movies lately? Evan: No but you have to get the first season of "24" on DVD today. It's insane. Stop reading this and go buy it...NOW. PRS: Do you have any projects going on right now? Recording, touring, writing, side-projects, etc.? Evan: I just finished up the first world tour for Avril Lavigne's first album "Let Go." We're currently in the studio writing and recording new material, look for a new album sometime early next year hopefully and with a tour to follow. PRS:Any advice you would like to give to other guitar players out there? Evan: Just keep on playing, follow your heart, play what you want, when you want and as loud as you want.
